In response to the challenges posed by traditional attendance tracking methods, particularly in large academic settings, I developed QR Attend. QR Attend is designed as a mobile application that generates a unique QR code for each enrolled course. When students enter the classroom, they simply scan the QR code using the app on their smartphones to mark their attendance. Recognizing the value of class time and the need for efficient administrative procedures, this streamlined process eliminates the need for manual attendance taking. Therefore, saving time for both professors and students while ensuring accurate records. In addition to efficiency and accuracy, QR Attend placed a strong emphasis on fostering accountability among students. By recognizing and rewarding regular attendance, the project aimed to incentivize active participation in academic sessions. QR Attend showcases my innovation and problem-solving skills by streamlining the process for professors and students alike. Its user-centric design, technical proficiency, and potential impact on academic efficiency and accountability make it a standout project in my portfolio, demonstrating my ability to create practical solutions to real-world problems.
